A FEW GOOGLE HOME OWNERS ALREADY HAVE BLUETOOTH ENABLED:

At Google I/O 2017, the company proclaimed that it is working to let owners of Google Home use Bluetooth streaming. It will be available soon on Google Home, which lets a user stream any audio from other devices, not only those which are running a compatible app.

YOUTUBE ON ANDRIOD TV PLAYS CATCH-UP WITH NEW DESIGN, AUTO-PLAY CONTROLS:

Android TV can’t be able to get more fame at Google I/O, but it is still alive in the minds of people. Google has aimed to roll out a new update to YouTube app on its Android TV platform, carrying an interface on criteria that will be available on smart TVs for a while now.

VIVO, CHINA’S THIRD MOST POPULAR BRAND, IS LAUNCHING IN PAKISTAN NEXT WEEK:

China’s third most popular smartphone brand, Vivo is planning to launch in Pakistan on July 5th, 2017. Vivo is having over 80 million sales in 2016, which makes the company to be ranked as a world’s 5th profitable company.

PAKISTAN’S INTERNET BANDWIDTH GOES UP BY 40 TBPS:

Pakistan got a new submarine cable connection with a capacity of 40 Terabits per second across five fiber pairs as AAE-1 (Asia-Africa-Europe-1).Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) is a 25,000km consortium cable system connecting South East Asia to Europe via Egypt, the largest submarine cable to be constructed in almost 15 years.

ETIHAD FLIGHTS TO AND FROM US AVOID LAPTOP BAN:

Passengers on Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to the US will be able to use larger gadgets, such as laptops, during their journey. Regulations requiring passengers to put laptops and other gadgets in baggage in the hold were introduced in March.

GOOGLE DEEPMIND NHS MEDICAL TRIAL BROKE UK PRIVACY LAW:

A UK hospital did not do enough to protect the privacy of patients when it shared data with Google, the UK’s Information Commission (ICO) has ruled. The ICO censured the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust about data handed over during trials of a novel way to detect kidney injuries.

LEECO CHAIRMAN ‘HAS BANK ACCOUNTS FROZEN OVER DEBT’:

The billionaire co-founder of struggling Chinese technology giant LeEco has had personal assets frozen by a Shanghai court, state media reports. Assets worth a combined 1.24bn yuan ($183m; £141m) belonging to Jia Yueting, his wife, and three affiliates have reportedly been blocked.

GOOGLE NHS DEAL REBUKED AGAIN BY DEEPMIND PANEL:

An independent panel set up to oversee the activities of Google’s DeepMind has agreed that its initial deal with a UK hospital was “illegal”. The Information Commission (ICO) ruled on Monday that the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust had not done enough to safeguard patient data.

SOFTWARE FIRM MEDOC’S SERVERS SEIZED:

Police in Ukraine have seized the servers of an accountancy software firm, which is believed to have unwittingly helped spread malware that attacked many global firms last month. Intellect Service has denied that its software helped spread the malware.

TECH BOSS DAVE MCCLURE RESIGNS AFTER HARASSMENT CLAIMS:

The founder of Silicon Valley-based venture capitalist firm 500 Startups has resigned following sexual harassment claims by several women. Dave McClure announced his resignation in a blog entitled: “I’m a creep. I’m sorry.”

AMAZON AND EBAY IMAGES BROKEN BY PHOTOBUCKET’S ‘RANSOM DEMAND’:

Thousands of images promoting goods sold on Amazon and other shopping sites have been removed after a photo-sharing service changed its terms. Ebay and Etsy have also been affected, in addition to many forums and blogs.

ALIBABA REVEALS ECHO-LIKE SMART SPEAKER:

Alibaba is the latest technology giant to unveil a smart speaker. The voice-controlled Tmall Genie can be used to play music, run third-party apps and buy goods from the Chinese retail giant’s online stores. Like many such devices, it lacks a display.

PETYA HACKERS ISSUE FRESH RANSOM DEMAND:

The perpetrators of a recent cyber-attack that disrupted businesses across the world appear to have accessed the ransom payments they raised. Just over £7,900-worth of virtual currency has been moved from the Bitcoin address listed in the blackmail demand that appeared on hacked PCs.

HACKERS STEAL BITCOIN FUNDS FROM BITHUMB EXCHANGE TRADERS:

One of the world’s largest cyber-currency exchanges is under investigation after it acknowledged that one of its employee’s PCs had been hacked. South Korea-based Bithumb has said that it believes personal details of more than 30,000 of its customers were stolen as a result.
