[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he poor quality of public education sector in Pakistani society is often quoted as the main reason of growth in the private education sector. The country with population of 199.1 million; must attract the foreign investment in this sector. Pakistani universities can play an important role in the international market for education and studies with the help of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Furthermore, many local universities have already started operations in some other states, but it is necessary to bring sizable foreign investments to build this sector more. For FY2017-18, the government has allocated Rs35,662.801 million for HEC in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). The government official reported that the total amount of Rs9,188.651 million has been earmarked for the latest programs of HEC, while Rs26474.150 million will be spent on the present ongoing projects/programs.
