[dropcap]Nestlé[/dropcap] Pakistan is proud to offer healthy and quality of brands/products in the market and has high aims to be the leading health, nutrition and wellness company. No doubt, the company is the leading food and beverages in Pakistan and operates in many ways but people, products and brands are the main flag bearers of the company’s image, and the management continues to improve the quality of life of Pakistanis.
The Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) has tested that Nestlé’s brands are good for human consumption. In this regard some food industry researchers are of the view that the dairy firms utilize Ultra High Temperature (UHT) treatment to grow the human health in the world. For this UHT treatment, milk is heated above 135 degrees Celsius to slay dangerous bacteria.
Nestlé Pakistan mentioned in the financial statement during January to March 2017, the sales revenue increased by Rs30,417 million, recording a growth of 13.8 percent mainly driven by volume. Nestlé’s export sales during the period under review reached at Rs1.0 billion, chiefly impacted by the volatile security condition and border management challenges with Afghanistan.

However, the net Profit After Tax (PAT) reached at Rs4.1 billion, recording a strong growth of 19.1 percent. The management also delivered a Gross Margin of 37.5 percent on the back of favorable input costs and optimization of the value chain by NCE (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) initiatives.
It is also mentioned in the financial statement that the company also delivered an Operating Profit of 20.6 percent. The change is mainly owing to increased investment (+44bps) behind its brands in line with the company’s priorities, change in product mix and rise in fuel rates, resulting in higher distribution costs (+27bps).
CONCLUSION
In last I would like to mention that unfortunately every day many Pakistanis suffers from severe stomach aches, diarrhoea, food poisoning, heart burn, irritable bowel syndrome or acidity. Up to 125,000 children die of diarrhoea yearly in the country. A lot of these health challenges come from the unhealthy foods. I hope that Nestlé Pakistan will keep offering the same quality brands/products for the healthy growth of the people in the future.
