Pakistan and Iran sign a currency swap agreement:
Pakistan and Iran have signed a currency swap agreement to enhance bilateral trade, said Mehdi Honardoost, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan.This agreement will open up channels in the central banks of both countries for trade transactions to reduce the usage of dollar account for Letter of Credit (LC) clearance. The arrangement is being carried out in addition to setting up a banking channel between the two countries by the two central banks.

Haroon Askari removed as CEO PSX:
According to a recent notice to the bourse, Haroon Askari has been removed as the Chief Executive Officer at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), after Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) advised the exchange to do so. PSX had extended Askari’s tenure for a month which was set to expire on October 30th. PSX has started the process of appointing an Acting CEO to replace him.

The process for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) 3G/4G spectrum in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) has come to a halt as Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has become dysfunctional till the appointment of a new Chairman and Member Finance. Apple ‘to buy Shazam for $400m’:
Apple is close to buying the music recognition app Shazam for about $400m (£300m), media reports say. Shazam, a UK company founded in 1999, allows people to use their smartphone or computer to identify and buy music through a snippet of sound. Shazam, which says it has more than 100 million monthly users, makes most of its revenue from commissions paid on referrals to Apple’s iTunes Store.

Apple homekit flaw left smart gadgets vulnerable:
Apple has fixed a security flaw in its HomeKit system that could have let unauthorised people control smart home gadgets such as door locks and lights. Spotify and tencent music buy stake in each other:
Two of the world’s most popular online music streaming services are buying shares in one another. Spotify and China’s Tencent Music Entertainment will buy minority stakes in each other, the companies have said. HP laptops found to have hidden keylogger:
Hidden software that can record every letter typed on a computer keyboard has been discovered pre-installed on hundreds of HP laptop models. Security researcher Michael Myng found the keylogging code in software drivers preinstalled on HP laptops to make the keyboard work.
