Red dead redemption 2 gets delayed to October this year:
Rockstar Games is spilling the beans about its most-anticipated release of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2. In the pursuit of allowing users more ways to express themselves, Facebook is introducing “Your Emoji”, a new way of showing your friends your current status on Messenger, as reported by Tech Crunch. Once placed, they’ll be displayed next to your Messenger Profile Pic for up to 24 hours. This should act as a way for people with similar interests and hobbies to spur conversations and share their activities.

Uber v google: self-drive tech clash heads to court:
A trial pitting two of the biggest players in self-drive technology against each other has begun in San Francisco. Ride-sharing firm Uber is being sued by Waymo, the self-driving company spun out of Google. Uber is accused of stealing and using trade secrets relating to Lidar (light detection and ranging) – one of the technologies that enables an autonomous car to understand what is happening around it.

A British Facebook executive has revealed she has a form of blood cancer called follicular lymphoma. EE’shoebox’ to tackle broadband not-spots:
Telecoms company EE has revealed plans to sell a 4G antenna that promises to bring fast broadband internet to thousands of homes in rural areas. EE’s Simon Till said the “shoebox-size” antenna would let more people access the company’s 4G broadband service. The company said it had delivered speeds of 100Mbps to homes during a trial in Cumbria.

Influential internet rights pioneer John Perry Barlow has died, aged 70. Mr Barlow was a co-founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) that campaigns on digital rights issues and was a director of the organization for many years. He was an advocate of free speech and wrote about the net’s potential for making society more representative.

Twitter posts its first quarterly profit as ad sales rise:
Twitter has reported its first quarterly net profit helped by a rise in video advertising sales. The news gave a massive boost to Twitter’s shares which closed 12% up on the day. Twitter posted fourth quarter revenue of $732 million, up 2% year-over-year and reversing the trend of declining top-line numbers over the past few quarters.
