Prime Minister Imran Khan who is Patron in Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the new domestic cricket structure on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the country’s new cricket structure is purely region-based where total six regional teams will be part of the new domestic setup. Two teams from Punjab and one each from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan/Azad Kashmir and Balochistan will play the first-class cricket.

Moreover, cricket at grass root level will also be strengthen following the footsteps of new domestic structure.
Earlier, PM Khan rejected the board’s proposed domestic cricket model as PCB had decided to strip departments of their playing rights. The idea was turned down by the Prime Minister, who does not want departments in the system in any capacity.
