Four-man event will be open to fighters from around the world and from various promotions

Bahrain-based MMA organisation Brave Combat Federation (Brave CF) will award a 6.2kg gold belt and a cash prize of $100,000 for the winner of a one-night, four-man open-weight tournament it says will crown “the best fighter on the planet”.

Competitors for the newly-minted KHK World Championship Belt will be chosen through open applications, with the only requirement being that fighters must have at least one professional win on their record.

The event will not be restricted to fighters currently signed with Brave CF. Free agents – as well as fighters signed with other promoters – will be able to participate, provided they get a temporary release form from their employers.

Applications will be accepted up until October 10.

KHK MMA and Brave CF will announce ten short-listed fights three days later. The final four will be announced on October 15.

The tournament will take place at Brave 30 on November 15, during the Brave International Combat Week. That week, the IMMAF World Championships will take place in Bahrain, bringing together over 500 athletes from more than 60 countries.

Brave Combat Federation was launched by Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Khalifa – a member of the Bahraini royal family – in 2016.
