So far this year, the European aviation group Airbus has significantly overtaken the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing in terms of the number of civil aircraft delivered. Airbus have delivered 571 aircraft, while Boeing only reached 302 so far. Airbus is also ahead in the total number of aircraft delivered since 2008 with 7,280 aircraft.
Most recently, Boeing was ahead by a nose for several years. Boeing is currently suffering from the impact of the 737 MAX issues. Boeing will present its figures for the third quarter this week and experts do not expect any improvement in the financial situation and assume that the 737 MAX will not receive its operating license back until next year.
