Unilever’s operations in Pakistan are counted amongst the best performing businesses units within Unilever’s global operations. In 2013, Unilever Overseas Holding, which is a majority shareholder in Unilever Pakistan Limited, invested over €400 Million (USD 530 Million) in Pakistan which is the single largest foreign direct investment in the recent history of Pakistan. This investment re-affirmed Unilever’s strong commitment to local operations and to Pakistan’s economic potential.
In 2020, Unilever completed further capital investment of USD 120 Million (PKR 11 Billion) in Pakistan acknowledging the country’s high potential for long-term growth. A majority of the investment was made to enhance manufacturing operations across Unilever’s four factories in Pakistan. This is a testament to Unilever’s commitment to growing the business in Pakistan and highlights the increasing uptake of consumer good products across the country.

During the Corona epidemic, Unilever Pakistan stepped up to commit a total of PKR 3,550 Million towards Covid-19 relief efforts in Pakistan in the form of working capital relief as well as monetary and in-kind donations. This included over PKR 100 million in the form of hygiene and sanitation products, PKR 102 million, in monetary donations government bodies and healthcare facilities, PKR 85 million to NGOs for ration distribution, PKR 213 million for handwash awareness campaigns as well as PKR 3 billion in the form of credit and faster payments to vendors as well as protected employments during lockdown.
