Tecno’s Pova series of phones is expanding yet again. Last week, Tecno launched the Pova Neo 5G, and now we are getting the Pova Neo 2, which is a direct successor to last year’s Pova Neo (4G). One of its highlights would be the gigantic 7,000 mAh battery alongside an affordable price tag. The rear panel design is similar to the recently released Pova Neo 5G. It even has similar display specifications including a 6.8-inch IPS LCD with a punch-hole selfie camera, but the resolution has been dialed down to 720p and the refresh rate is at 90Hz now (down from 120Hz). The fingerprint sensor doubles as a power button on the side.

The high-speed mobile broadband projects, highways and motorways projects, and optical fiber cable projects will provide 4G LTE connectivity and backhaul connectivity to around 3.5 million people by connecting 187 Union Councils (UCs) with 1,554 kilometers (kms) of optical fiber cable and provide seamless connectivity to 622 km of unserved road segments on M-8 motorway and N-35 highway.

Companion mode was originally spotted in May this year, a multi-device feature that lets you sync your account to a secondary mobile device. It was believed that it would be limited to smartphones, but it appears that WhatsApp is bringing it to tablets as well, as spotted in the latest beta version for Android.

Electric versions of the Qashqai and Juke are are being manufactured at Nissan in Sunderland thanks to a £10m state-of-the-art battery assembly line. Battery packs for the plant’s two most successful models are now made onsite and fitted into the crossover vehicles. Built alongside the Nissan Leaf, it means every model built in the UK now has an electrified version. Vice president of manufacturing Alan Johnson said it was “fantastic” to see them rolling off the production lines.

A YouTuber who went into cardiac arrest while in a coma with Covid has reunited with the doctor who saved her life. Grace Victory, 31, from High Wycombe, was put in a coma on Boxing Day 2020, just after giving birth to her son. Dr Viv Sathianathan was the lead consultant on shift when she went into cardiac arrest three weeks later. Ms Victory, who is also an author, said she felt privileged returning to Northwick Park Hospital in London to give a talk with him for trainee staff.
Iran protests: US to ease internet curbs for Iranians:
The US says it will ease internet curbs on Iran to counter Tehran’s clampdown on protests which were sparked by a woman’s death in police custody. “We are going to help make sure the Iranian people are not kept isolated and in the dark,” said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The relaxation of software controls will allow American tech firms to expand their business in Iran. At least 35 people have been killed in the worst unrest in Iran for years. Mahsa Amini, 22, fell into a coma last week, hours after morality police arrested her for allegedly breaking headscarf rules.

Russian state TV claims Ukrainians are selling US-donated weapons on the dark web. The BBC investigated one such marketplace, spoke undercover to those apparently selling weapons, and gathered evidence that suggests the adverts for weapons are fake. “Ukrops [a derogatory Russian slang term used to refer to Ukrainians] are selling Javelins on the darknet. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine resells equipment and weapons supplied by Nato.” This message about anti-tank weapons was posted on 2 June by pro-Kremlin English-language account ASB Military News. The account has been recently suspended by Twitter but still exists on Telegram, where it has more than 100,000 subscribers.
Iran unrest: What’s going on with Iran and the internet?:
Activists in Iran are expressing concern about widespread internet outages and residents being unable to access social media. Anger has circulated online after over a week of protests sparked by the death of a Kurdish woman in police custody. Internet monitoring group NetBlocks said Instagram and WhatsApp – two of the major communication tools that Iran usually allows – had been restricted. WhatsApp said it was working to keep Iranian users connected. The two Meta-owned apps have millions of Iranian users and have become increasingly popular after authorities blocked other platforms in recent years, including Facebook and Twitter.

West Midlands Police have asked people to be mindful of misinformation and rumour on social media after two protests took place. About 50 people gathered near a Hindu temple in Coventry on Thursday. Earlier, 150 people met in Smethwick which resulted in minor disorder. The reasons surrounding the protests are complex, police said, but added it was working with community leaders. Unsubstantiated claims on social media can have a serious impact, it warned. A spokesman said there had been several instances of fake news and unsubstantiated claims being spread on social media and messaging services.
Molly Russell inquest: Instagram clips seen by teen ‘most distressing’:
The inquest of a 14-year-old girl who took her own life has been examining the impact of material she viewed on Instagram in the run-up to her death. Molly Russell, from Harrow, north-west London, engaged with numerous accounts referring to self-harm, depression or suicide before killing herself in 2017. The court heard how the platform recommended further content based on those views. Elizabeth Lagone, from Meta, which owns Instagram, defended their policies. Ms Lagone, head of health and well-being at the social media giant formerly known as Facebook, told the North London Coroner’s Court that suicide and self-harm material could have been posted by a user as a “cry for help”.
Oxfordshire teen arrested in police hacking investigation:
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of hacking as part of an investigation by the National Crime Agency. City of London Police said the 17-year-old, from Oxfordshire, was detained on Thursday evening as part of an inquiry supported by the UK’s National Cyber Crime Unit. The teenager remains in custody, police said. No other details about the nature of the investigation were disclosed.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of publishing material with intent to incite religious hatred. West Midlands Police said it had been searching for a suspect following the publication of a social media video earlier this week. A 37-year-old from Birmingham handed himself in to police on Friday, police said. Earlier, police said they sent officers to a potential protest near a Hindu temple in Coventry on Thursday evening. It followed a protest in Smethwick on Tuesday resulting in some disorder. The video, police said, depicted threats being made and derogatory language being used.
