Pakistan and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed their commitment to sharing audit experiences, collaborating on IT and environmental audits, and facilitating the training of human resources, reported APP on Wednesday (March 6).
The affirmation was expressed during a visit of the four-member delegation from the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Supreme Audit Institution Azerbaijan) to the office of the Auditor-General of Pakistan (Supreme Audit Institution Pakistan).
The exchange of visits between the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan and the Auditor-General of Pakistan demonstrates a tangible effort to strengthen their professional relationships. The presentation on the working of SAI Pakistan, performance auditing, and collaboration with organisations like CIPFA and the implementation of AMIS provides valuable insights for both parties.
The peer review of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan’s accounts by the Auditor General of Pakistan underscores the mutual respect for each other’s professional capabilities. It’s commendable that they are leveraging each other’s expertise to improve audit practices.
The meeting between the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan and President Dr. Arif Alvi further highlights the importance of bilateral cooperation in enhancing auditing practices. The emphasis on sharing best auditing practices and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Supreme Audit Institutions of both countries are significant steps towards achieving this goal.
Overall, the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices between Pakistan and Azerbaijan’s audit institutions will contribute positively to promoting transparency and accountability in both nations.
