Pakistan’s pharmaceutical and textile sectors hold immense scope for bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan, having a wide array of opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to reports, this was stated by Bikulon Damirbek, the Head of the Regional Development and Investment Attractive Department of the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzsta during discussions with a visiting Pakistani trade delegation led by Kyrgyz honorary Consul Meher Kashif Younis.

Consul’s spokesman quoted as saying on Sunday (March 24) in Lahore that he emphasised Pakistan’s robust pharmaceutical sector, noting its capacity to address Kyrgyzstan’s healthcare needs with high-quality generic drugs. Bikulon suggested that collaboration in this sector could yield economic benefits for both nations.

He said by exploring partnerships and collaborations in this sector, Kyrgyzstan could gain access to affordable medicines while Pakistan could expand its market presence in Central Asia.

Furthermore, Bikulon stressed the importance of joint efforts from both governments to facilitate trade and investment. He proposed initiatives such as trade delegations, joint ventures, and the establishment of trade agreements to create a favourable environment for business collaboration. Additionally, Bikulon highlighted the significance of improving transportation links and logistical infrastructure to enhance trade efficiency.

Meher Kashif Younis echoed Bikulon’s sentiments, emphasising the significant opportunity for strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties through collaboration in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical and textile industries. He particularly highlighted Pakistan’s well-established textile sector, which offers potential for exports to Central Asia through Kyrgyzstan’s strategic location.

Overall, the discussions underscored the mutual benefits of leveraging each country’s strengths to foster economic growth and prosperity through enhanced bilateral trade and collaboration.
